The Smallmouth Alliance (TSA) is a group of conservation-minded anglers who recognize the outstanding sporting characteristics of smallmouth bass. TSA believes in putting something back into the resource -- while enjoying our sport angling pursuits. TSA's primary focus is on smallmouth bass habitat and angling conservation issues. Founded nationally in 1988, TSA now boasts chapters in Illinois, Indiana, Missouri, Ohio, and Wisconsin.

Our smallmouth bass fisheries face a myriad of problems -- many waters hold few large fish because of intense angling pressure and outdated regulations while others are being smothered by agricultural run-off and siltation. In addition, industrial pollution and unchecked urban development threaten the water quality of our lakes, rivers and stream fisheries.

Anglers must work together to improve their fishing. By working together as a group, we can accomplish far more than by acting alone. Witness the success of organizations like Trout Unlimited, Ducks Unlimited and Muskies Inc. These outstanding conservation organizations have made a tremendous impact on the quality of their respective sports. Now smallmouth bass fans have an ally too - The Smallmouth Alliance.
